State Representative John Lawn

Kendra (Medville) Foley was born and raised in Watertown. She attended the Watertown Public Schools, graduating from Watertown High School in 1995 and from Boston College in 1999. She was a dedicated student athlete in both high school and college. After college she joined Teach for America in Washington DC, teaching fifth grade for two years, before heading back to Boston in 2001 to pursue a career in public service and advocacy. She worked on multiple statewide political campaigns and served for eight years in the Deval Patrick Administration in leadership roles. Since then, she has supported clients and organizations in the areas of education policy, non-profit development, organizational and project management, and political fundraising. She has been an active member of school PTOs and site councils and was a founding member of Watertown Strong Schools. Deeply committed to her community and the transformative power of education, she has served as an elected member of the Watertown School Committee since 2016 and as Chair since 2022. Kendra lives in Watertown with her husband and three children, all of whom are students in the Watertown Public Schools.

All In the Family

Kendra’s parents, an educator and a civic leader taught her the importance of civic engagement and the transformative power of education.  They taught her that time spent helping her community was time well spent.  And, for Kendra, there is nothing we can do that will add more value to our community than to create, support and sustain an excellent educational system.
